Head Ice Technician Job Description/Responsibilities
Burlington Golf & Country Club is a private members club that is now accepting applications for the position of Head Ice Technician. Our 6-sheet facility offers a special opportunity for the right candidate to join our dedicated team in providing a rewarding curling experience for our 600 + curling members of all levels.
The Ice Technician is responsible for the day-to-day ice operations and maintaining a high standard of playing conditions expected in a private club environment. The season runs from approximately September 1st to April 30th each season.
The Head Ice Technician shall work with the Curling Manager on a regular basis and provide an ice maintenance schedule to ensure a smooth transition between draws, bonspiels and special events. The Head Ice Technician is expected to oversee the maintenance operation of the entire ice/rink and all aspects of the curling plant. The Chief Operating Officer shall oversee the employment of the Head Ice Technician and set their responsibilities.
- Plant start up and Ice Installation
- Maintaining the club standards of playing conditions
- Daily Ice Maintenance
- Hiring, training and scheduling of ice maintenance staff
- Daily Ice and Plant logs
- Level II Technicians Certificate
- End of season shutdown and ice removal
- Inspect and arranging repairs of all ice making equipment
- Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Volunteer Website Manager
HACA has an immediate requirement for a Volunteer Website Manager. This is a pivotal role within HACA. It serves as the central point of contact for the administration and support of the HACA website and works closely with HACA’s third party webmaster to ensure the website content is posted, up to date and accurate. For the most part, you will liaise with curling club representatives and committees to promote the submission of area curling events and bonspiels to the website. You will also field miscellaneous questions and inquiries from area curlers who contact HACA via the website.
You will need home access to the internet via a PC or laptop and have some proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
